This story Kept me locked from beginning to end. I am a older woman so I thought that I couldn't relate, but it took me back to my younger days when we're looking for that fairy tale ending. I felt so bad for the main character Resa. She just wanted someone to love her,but she looked in all the wrong places and she got treated so bad. I found myself laughing and crying for Resa. I thought she would see the pattern that she was on and maybe change some of her ways, but it seemed she just didn't get it. I wondered what happened to her first love Trey. By the end of the book he wasn't mentioned anymore. To the author, you did a fantastic job and I look forward to reading more of your books. I enjoyed every minute.Product details

Reflections Diary of A Black Girl edition by Theresa SandersBrinson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Full Review[...]
At some point, the grammar and spelling becomes part of the character of the book, providing a depth and harsh reality to the story. Ms. Sanders-Brinson believes every word of this story to a point that I felt uncomfortable reading a lot of it. It takes a lot of balls to realize that you're far from perfect, let alone to write about it. This isn't a fairy tale. This is the coming-of-age story of a real girl, growing up the way that real girls do. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of a good fairy tale too, but if I had read stories as honest as Ms. Sanders-Brinson's when I was growing up instead of fluffy science fiction I could have foregone a lot of the moral dilemmas that I had.
Nice book! Really good for the young lady trying to figure things out.
